Journey To Shoppers Drug Mart

I went for a walk today to the Shoppers Drug Mart near my workplace. They have a promotion this week where you receive 15,000 Shoppers Optimum Points when you spend $75 or more on cosmetics. That is a $25 reward. 

I couldn’t think of anything that I needed. This location has a beauty boutique that carries brands such as Dior, Smashbox, Benefit, Lancome, Clinique and L’Occitane. For months I have wanted to buy the Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Cream from L’Occitane, but it was never in stock. I don’t know how I got through the winter without it. I could have gone to the L’Occitane store, but I wanted to earn Optimum Points.

I looked around the store and I saw the Suede bags. I have been building up my points for a while to use towards a large purchase. What better idea than to buy a bag with my points. I got the idea when I read the post by Fabulously “Broke”… In the City about Suede bags at Shoppers Drug Mart. I had seen the bags for maybe a year or two, but I had never purchased one. They are also available at Winners.

Liplicious

My second obsession to bags is lip gloss. For some reason I am always on the prowl for a new shade, but I always end up getting the same colour in a different brand. In the morning I put Kiehl’s lip balm on my lips because they are dry. The following are the lip gloss that I carry in my bag:

-YSL Touche Brilliance Sparkling Touch for Lips #10

That does not include the Rosebud Salve that is always at the bottom of my bag. I can’t leave home without it. As well I also carry an extra lip balm if my outfit has a pocket.

MAC Cosmetics

There was a time when the only cosmetics I purchased were from MAC. This included foundation, blush, lipstick, lip gloss, concealer and eye shadow. MAC carried products for women of all colours. Then I discovered products from other cosmetics lines such as Cargo and Benefit. Recently, I have not been happy with the products that I have. Last year I purchased a lip gloss that gave me a rash on my lips. I have found myself dumping products and switching to other product lines. With the entrance of Sephora onto the market, there are so many products in one location to compare. My Fafi makeup case has been replaced by my Daisy Marc Jacobs makeup case. Sorry MAC, but I am no longer a true believer.
