Pink Lady

I decided to get the Nintendo DS Lite in pink today. It is so cute. It is charging right now, so I haven’t gotten a chance to play with it yet. I wanted to get something for myself. I used my Shoppers Optimum Points and only had to pay the tax. Sweet!!!!

Friday is the first day of May and I still have not purchased a new bag for the year. This should be in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Frida Is Sold Out

I went to Shoppers Drug Mart this morning and the bags that were in the glass case were gone. I panicked. I walked around in circles trying to find the bag. There were other bags that were hanging from chairs in the beauty boutique, but my bag was missing. A salesperson asked if she could help me. I described the bag to her. She said that the bag was sold last week. I was heart broken.  I thought about buying the Nintendo DS, but I decided to think about it for a while.

Suede vs. Nintendo DS

Now that I have reached 75,000 points required to get up to $150 off at Shoppers Drug Mart I cannot decide whether I want to get the Suede bag or a Nintendo DS. I have not touched the Suede bag yet. It is behind a glass case and did not want to be tempted. Lately, I have been playing a lot of games on my iPod Touch. The Nintendo DS would be great for travelling long distances.

I think the only reason I want to get the Suede bag is that I still have not purchased a new bag yet and it is almost the end of April. I will make my decision by the end of the month. I will either have a new bag or the Nintendo DS. Either way I will be happy to say to the cashier, “I will be redeeming my Shoppers Optimum Points for this purchase.”

Journey To Shoppers Drug Mart

I went for a walk today to the Shoppers Drug Mart near my workplace. They have a promotion this week where you receive 15,000 Shoppers Optimum Points when you spend $75 or more on cosmetics. That is a $25 reward. 

I couldn’t think of anything that I needed. This location has a beauty boutique that carries brands such as Dior, Smashbox, Benefit, Lancome, Clinique and L’Occitane. For months I have wanted to buy the Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Cream from L’Occitane, but it was never in stock. I don’t know how I got through the winter without it. I could have gone to the L’Occitane store, but I wanted to earn Optimum Points.

I looked around the store and I saw the Suede bags. I have been building up my points for a while to use towards a large purchase. What better idea than to buy a bag with my points. I got the idea when I read the post by Fabulously “Broke”… In the City about Suede bags at Shoppers Drug Mart. I had seen the bags for maybe a year or two, but I had never purchased one. They are also available at Winners.

It is that time again at Shoppers Drug Mart when you can receive 20x Shoppers Optimum points when you spend $50 or more on cosmetics or fragrances. This includes all brands of make-up, facial skin care, women’s and men’s fragrances, jewellery, hair colouring, bath foam and gel and nail care.

The offer is valid from Saturday August 9 to Friday August 15, 2008.

Last year I had accumulated enough points to purchase a digital camera. It is a great opportunity to get extra points for those large purchases that you have to make at Shoppers Drug Mart. I have over 50,000 points. I don’t know what I am saving up for yet. However, they do carry handbags at the Shoppers Drug Mart near my workplace. Something to think about.
