Coach Canada Invitation Only Sale

I think my invitation has been lost in the mail.

Coach Canada is having a 25% off sale from May 1 to 10, 2009 at all Coach stores in Canada to celebrate Mother’s Day. In order to get the discount you would have received an invitation card which was only sent to select customers that spent over a certain amount. I do not know what that amount is. Obviously I did not spend enough. When I purchased my Coach bag in December, I bought it at Holt Renfrew.

In my opinion anyone who has bought an item should get a discount considering all the drama involved when you make a purchase. I know they have my address.

To rub salt into my wounds, I noticed someone on the subway this afternoon with a LARGE Coach shopping bag.

Mission: Impossible

I was on a mission today to find a bag. At lunch time I went to Winners near my office to try to find a bag. No luck.

Yesterday I saw someone with a Coach bag (in black) that I had only seen once.

I went to Holt Renfrew after work, but I did not see the bag. I decided to check out the Marc by Marc Jacobs bags. I did not see any bags that I really loved. I decided to make one more stop before I went home. I went to the Winners down the street from Holt Renfrew. The bag selection at that store is better than the Winners near my office. I looked and looked, but nothing called my name. When I see a bag that I really like it just calls out to me and says “buy me”. There were a few bags that were alright, but I did not want to buy a bag for the sake of buying one.

Please Step Away From My Bag

I may be a bit obsessed with my Coach Op Art Sabrina handbag. This has to be one of my favourite bags. I don’t like people to get too close. Anyone that gets too close is likely to get a dirty look from me. I pull my bag close when I am on the bus or subway. Today someone sat next to me with a coffee cup in her hand. I was trying to sleep, but my only thought was that if the coffee were to spill I would lose it.

I need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been in bed with the flu flor the last couple of days. This morning to my surprise UPS was at the door with the Coach Bag that I won. I was called to the door as there was a problem. I was in my pajamas and was not wearing my glasses. I was informed that the driver was expecting payment of $106.82 for import charges. I was not told that I had to make any payments towards an item that I had won. The UPS driver told me that I could refuse the package and that it would be held in Toronto for one week and then returned. I told him that I would refuse the package. I immediately emailed Catherine from That’s a Fabulous Handbag. She responded back 45 minutes later with the following response:

You’re kidding! We were told you would have to pay a $20 import tax of some sort. We don’t have those sort of taxes/charges in the US, so I had no idea it was so high. That’s ridiculous. Now I know why many contests are for US citizens only!
I’m sorry, but we will have to give the bag to another winner.

A word of advice to Canadian’s that enter U.S. contests – DON’T. I am very angry about the situation. So far 2009 sucks!!!!

P.S. I bought the Coach Op Art Large Sabrina below for my birthday/Christmas gift to myself a couple of weeks ago. Good thing I did not return it when I found out I won the other bag. It is quite beautiful. Time to save for my next trip.

I Won, I Won, I Won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Earlier this month I entered the December giveaway on the blog “That’s a Fabulous Handbag”. They were giving away the Coach Sabrina Handbag from the resort collection. All you had to do was post a comment on the blog why you liked the bag. At the end of December a lucky winner would be chosen. This morning I received an email that I was the winner. I screamed at the top of my lungs. I never win anything. I can’t wait for it to arrive.

The Abyss

I am not referring to the 1989 deep-sea adventure movie by James Cameron, but the inside of my handbag(s).

Merriam-Webster definition:
1. The bottomless gulf, pit, or chaos of the old cosmogonies
2. an immeasurably deep gulf or great space

For the last couple of months I have not been carrying a cosmetic bag in my handbag. I get bored easily with my cosmetic bags, so I am always changing them. Now when I put a lip gloss in my purse, it is never to be seen again. The larger the bag the harder it is to find anything.

Coach Wallets at Winners

When you go to the store Winners you never know what you will find. That is what I love about the store. Today I went in just to see if they had anymore summer clothes on sale. The store was a mess with all of the summer items on clearance, and new fall/winter clothes on the racks. I was tired and did not want to spent too much time browsing, so I went over to the bag section. I did not see anything interesting. I went over to the wallet section. I always change my wallet a couple of times a year out of boredom. I found two coach wallets in the pile. I got excited for a moment. They were both $99.99. The logo wallet was regular $228 and the brown leather was regular $218. I decided not to buy them as they were not the styles I was looking for. No more impulse buys. They will most likely be gone by tomorrow.
