Looking For A Facial Cleanser

Lately, I have not been happy with my facial cleanser. I follow a three step regimen twice a day – cleanser, toner and moisturizer from H2O+. I was using H2O+ Face Oasis Cleansing Water, but I switched last month to H2O+ Sea Results Sea Mineral Cleanser.

When I look in the mirror I am not happy with the results. I think I have large pores. However, when I go to cosmetics counters the sales people always tell me how great my skin is or that it is glowing. I think they are lying. It could all be in my head. In the winter the weather will have an affect on your skin. I have not complaints with the moisturizer. It is a hydrating gel that does not make me breakout.

I have tried many products in the past from Kiehl’s, Aveda, Neutrogena, Clinique, Biotherm…the list can go on.

Lucky Finds

Today I found two items that I was not expecting to buy when I went to the mall. I went to Winners on my break to find some mittens. No such luck. What did catch my eye was the display at the front of the store. It was the Yoga Mate by Savasa. It is like a natural towel that can absorb sweat when it is placed over the yoga mat. This will come in handy when I go to hot yoga classes. It will be a lot easier than carrying a bulky beach towel. I have only gone to one class this year, but I intend you go more often in 2009.

I was unable to find the yoga mate on the Savasa website: www.savasayoga.com. However, I was able to find it on Amazon.

After work I decided to go to the Eaton Centre in downtown Toronto to purchase exfoliator at H2O+. What a mistake. The mall was packed. I decided to go to The Body Shop before heading to the subway. I found the Mini Cosmetic Pouch that was on sale for $6.00. It is a good size and can hold several lip glosses. It is quite cute.

One Month Until Christmas

My family has decided this year not to exchange gifts. At this stage in our lives, whenever we want something we buy it. I would always buy things for myself when I did my Christmas shopping, so this year I will be able to buy more for myself.

My birthday is in December, so more reason to go shopping!!!!!!

Skin Care Routine

On Friday I was in Holt Renfrew at the YSL cosmetics counter. Within a span of 5 minutes I was told that I had great skin – twice by the salespeople and once by a customer. I thought that they were crazy. I always find something wrong with my skin. I look in the mirror and see large pores, dark circles under my eyes and pimples. My skin care routine has changed over the years, but I always go back to H2O plus. When I was a teenager I used Noxema to clean my face. I later tried Clinique, but was unhappy with the products. I found that the toner’s dried out my skin and the moisturizer was too heavy. I have also tried Aveda, Kiehl’s, Neutrogena, Lancome, Biotherm and Shiseido. I have had a hard time finding products for combination skin. The following is my skin care routine twice a day:

Cleanser – Face Oasis Cleansing Water

Toner – Marine Toner

Moisturizer – Face Oasis Hydrating Gel

Exfoliator – Sea Mineral Scrub (twice a week)

Mask – Sea Mineral Mud Mask (once a week)

I have also tried the Olive Stones Natural Scrub from Korres which I use once a week.
