I went to Shoppers Drug Mart this morning and the bags that were in the glass case were gone. I panicked. I walked around in circles trying to find the bag. There were other bags that were hanging from chairs in the beauty boutique, but my bag was missing. A salesperson asked if she could help me. I described the bag to her. She said that the bag was sold last week. I was heart broken.  I thought about buying the Nintendo DS, but I decided to think about it for a while.

Suede vs. Nintendo DS

Now that I have reached 75,000 points required to get up to $150 off at Shoppers Drug Mart I cannot decide whether I want to get the Suede bag or a Nintendo DS. I have not touched the Suede bag yet. It is behind a glass case and did not want to be tempted. Lately, I have been playing a lot of games on my iPod Touch. The Nintendo DS would be great for travelling long distances.

I think the only reason I want to get the Suede bag is that I still have not purchased a new bag yet and it is almost the end of April. I will make my decision by the end of the month. I will either have a new bag or the Nintendo DS. Either way I will be happy to say to the cashier, “I will be redeeming my Shoppers Optimum Points for this purchase.”

Journey To Shoppers Drug Mart

I went for a walk today to the Shoppers Drug Mart near my workplace. They have a promotion this week where you receive 15,000 Shoppers Optimum Points when you spend $75 or more on cosmetics. That is a $25 reward. 

I couldn’t think of anything that I needed. This location has a beauty boutique that carries brands such as Dior, Smashbox, Benefit, Lancome, Clinique and L’Occitane. For months I have wanted to buy the Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Cream from L’Occitane, but it was never in stock. I don’t know how I got through the winter without it. I could have gone to the L’Occitane store, but I wanted to earn Optimum Points.

I looked around the store and I saw the Suede bags. I have been building up my points for a while to use towards a large purchase. What better idea than to buy a bag with my points. I got the idea when I read the post by Fabulously “Broke”… In the City about Suede bags at Shoppers Drug Mart. I had seen the bags for maybe a year or two, but I had never purchased one. They are also available at Winners.

Suede Launches Spring/Summer 2009

There are several collections available for Spring/Summer 2009. I love the colours of the Baby Jane wallets from the Chelsea Girls collection, as well as the oversized Degas clutch bags from the Impressionista collection.

I received an email today from Suede. I had no idea what it was about. It is the second day of my 30 day challenge and I am in withdrawal. I chose to briefly look at the website. I don’t want to be tempted. I must have seen a bag in a magazine and signed up at their website. I have the habit of going through magazines and when I see a bag that I like, I will check to see if the company has a website.
